Reading Fluency Assessments

Did you know that reading fluency has a direct link to reading comprehension? Reading fluently means the ability to read with accuracy and expression in a designated amount of time. There are several reading fluency assessments and curriculum-based measures that teachers and parents use to determine if their children are advancing appropriately. I've attached some fluency CBM's from primer to second grade. Feel free to use them with your children to track their fluency. To learn more about reading fluency, read my previous blog post about the third component of reading

Some of the resources provided are from the Cox Campus website. I use these resources to drive some of my instruction. They also have great instructional courses on the Cox Campus website if you want to learn more about reading.
